  Dr. Alan Dulin is an artist and he is awesome at his technique and his skills. I'm for ever grateful what him and his staff did for my Daughter, who had MTF surgery last August. However, and this is a big however, healthcare should be focused on the patient. Refusing to allow the patient to have access to their family for the "safety" of the nurse that is caring for them is outrageous. I would ask, rather beg, that you reconsider this practice for your future patients. Support of family is a part of the healing process in every other type of surgery. Family should be allowed in post-op care as part of this surgery when family is present and supportive. This MTF surgery was a MAJOR transformation mentally as well as physically. There should be options of post-op recovery other than being by themselves with a nurse in a hotel. What other kind of surgery would you even consider doing that type of care? Outpatient recovery in a facility is what is needed, not a hotel, and not by excluding loving family members. Please reconsider and give your future patient's options. I could not imagine someone going through this surgery who didn't have support post the 1 night hotel stay with a nurse. There is no way my Daughter could have done it on her own. She needed someone at a minimal of 3 days post surgery. Physician do no harm, includes mental anguish for families. That is what I was literally going thru waiting at home until the time I was allowed to pick her up the next morning.
