  I just got my car checked out here. They found that the fuel pump was bad and needed $900 to replace it. A fuel pump costs $165 to $200 to purchase for my car. It will take roughly 3 hours to replace the pump. Why am I being charged $700 for 3 hours of labor? Then the mechanic said that there could be 5 other things that could be wrong with the car. I am thinking this is not right, reason being, in July we drove the car from Dallas to Chicago and back with zero problems. The car does not over heat and has had only scheduled parts fail in their appropriate time. The fuel pump is a scheduled part that would need to be replaced at the current mileage on the car. Since I have had the car I have taken very good care of it and I usually get that kind of response from the mechanic that looks at it if he is honest. I am taking my car else where but I will still need to pay for the labor it cost to look at the car. Does this sound like I am being scammed to you? I would not trust this auto shop based on the simple facts and prices listed above.
